Thanksgiving Food Drive 2 (Oct 2019)
St. Mary will be launching our annual THANKSGIVING FOOD and CLOTHING DRIVE from Wednesday October 2 to Wednesday October 9, 2019!

What is being collected?
  • non-perishable items: canned goods (fish & meat, vegetables/beans, fruit, soup, chili, pasta sauce), cereal/oatmeal, granola bars/snacks, peanut butter, jam, juice boxes, pasta, rice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, stuffing, gravy, instant mashed potatoes
  • hygiene items: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion
  • gently used clothing, eyeglasses, school supplies
  • gift cards for local grocery stores
Where can I donate?
Each homeroom class has a grey St. Mary Mission Room donation bin. Retreat Leaders will visit homerooms on Monday October 7th to conduct a “weigh in” for an early bird "timbits" prize.  On the final weigh-in day, Wednesday October 9, the most generous senior and junior homeroom classes will be given the opportunity to participate in an Escape Room on Wednesday October 30, 2019 courtesy of the Pickering Library.

The Ultimate Prize
If the school collectively donates 2500 pounds of goods to the drive Ms. Duane has agreed to allow for an extra non-uniform day!!!  Monetary donations will be converted as follows - every dollar counts as half a pound.

Where will the donations go?
  • All gently-used clothing donations will be shipped directly to developing nations through Dr. Simone’s Canadian Food for Children
  • We will also be distributing food directly to families who are part of our St. Mary Community who are in need of support through our The Mission Room (Community Outreach).
  • Any surplus will be donated to St. Vincent DePaul in conjunction with The DCDSB's "Food for Hope" Campaign.

Thanks in advance for all your support!
