Happy first Wellness Wednesday of November, also known as Movember! Movember a month dedicated to raising awareness about men’s health issues, including men’s mental health. Some men grow a mustache to bring awareness to these issues. It's a time to break the silence, challenge stigma, and support one another.
We know that many young men struggle with stress, anxiety, or depression—but may feel pressure to stay silent. Let’s change that.
Here’s a few reminders:
- It’s okay to not be okay.
- It’s brave to ask for help.
- It’s powerful to support a friend.
Whether you're growing a moustache or growing in compassion, let’s make space for honest conversations about men’s mental health.
Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Information - Supporting Men’s Mental Health
November marks Movember, a global movement that shines a light on men’s health—especially mental health. It’s a time to raise awareness about the unique challenges boys and men face when it comes to expressing emotions and seeking support.
In many communities, boys and men are taught to “be strong” and “tough it out,” which can make it harder for them to talk about their feelings. At school, we’re encouraging students to understand that talking about emotions is a sign of strength, not weakness.
As parents and caregivers, you play a vital role in helping children—especially boys—feel safe to express themselves. Simple check-ins, listening without judgment, and modeling healthy emotional habits can make a big difference. Whether you're growing a moustache or growing in compassion, let’s work together to erase the stigma around men’s mental health.
