WIN New to Canada  - Welcome and Information for NewcomersSWIS Durham and the Durham Catholic School Board partner to offer newcomers to Canada a welcome and information orientation program for students and families. Female student standing with female and male staff holding the Premier Award for Safe Schools The Ontario Ministry of Education recently announced that St. Mary Catholic Secondary School’s Safe and Accepting school team won the 2016–2017 Premier’s Award for Accepting Schools. St. Mary Catholic Secondary School was one of 10 schools across the province to receive this honour.

Male and female students in the senior bandSt. Mary Catholic Secondary School's Senior Concert Band and Jazz Bands were invited to compete at MusicFest Canada on May 15 and 16 in Niagara Falls. To be invited to compete at this National Level, a group must qualify at a regional festival which we did in May of 2016.  
There were over 250 bands from across the country competing at this festival and we are very proud to announce that St. Mary Catholic Secondary School was granted a Silver Standing in both the Senior...

On Wednesday June 14 and Thursday June 15, our Grade 9 students will take part in the provincial Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics created by the Education Quality Accountability Office (EQAO). This assessment in administered to all students in Grade 9 applied (MFM1P) and academic (MPM1D) mathematics courses in the Ontario publicly funded school system.
