Panning a Skilled Trades Pathway in High School (Tues Feb 15 @7pm) - Virtual
St. Mary C.S.S. in partnership with Skills Ontario is hosting a virtual evening session for students AND parents in grade 8, 9 and 10.
Planning a Skilled Trades Pathway in High School will discuss:
- Discuss what skilled trades means and related occupations
- Explore job titles in the skilled trades sector
- Consider reasons WHY students should explore a skilled trades pathway
- Gain an understanding in apprenticeship programs, including how college programs relate
St. Mary staff will make connections with specific courses offered and how they related to a skilled trades pathway in all pathways: apprenticeship, college, university, workplace
- Explore how high school courses at St. Mary can relate to a skilled trades pathway
- Emphasis on course selection time in late February 2022
